Mile 1202

Beaver Creek, Yukon. Canada's westernmost town.

Mile 1212

Mile 1222

Alaska!!

I am wearing my rain gear (still raining!).

Good news: The Alaska Hwy is paved in Alaska!

It's a little-known fact that this point is the westernmost point in Canada. Yes, further west than Vancouver or Queen Charlotte Islands!

Mile 1309

The Tok River bridge.

Beautiful clouds!

When I hitchhiked up here in 1974 I got caught here in sub-freezing temperatures in mid-August. One morning there was a good 1/2" of ice on a bucket of water.

Mile 1309

Camping at the Tok River: taking time to dry out, as well as do some laundry.

Mile 1326
These are the foothills of the Alaskan Range Mountains.
